If you've been wanting to try out playing the violin, viola, cello or bass, or if you want to review the basics of playing, this program is for you!
This workshop is an opportunity for anyone who is curious about strings: to either start from scratch or hone their existing skills.
Throughout the sessions, students will learn (or review) the basics of playing and technique, learn to play together as a group, and experience the fun of being inside an orchestra.
This will be a group-style beginner class, geared toward teens and adults (kids under 10 years old welcome, but should be accompanied by an adult- preferably an adult who is also learning!). You will need to bring instrument; do contact us if you need help finding one.
Schedule:
Aug. 2nd 6:00-7:00pm optional intro for anyone who is brand new to the instrument
Aug. 3rd 12:30-3pm
Aug. 4th-7th 8:30-10:30
This program will bring about 2 hours of instruction per day: one hour of instruction with just the class and then an hour of instruction with other beginning players and as the week progresses, together with the junior orchestra!
Students 9 years or older are welcome to stay, listen to rehearsals and participate in general workshops of the main program.
